First time opening it?
If the stick feels a little stuck, that’s completely normal. Simply press gently but firmly on the sides of the tube a few times, and the product will release smoothly.
If it still doesn’t move, place the stick in the freezer for a few minutes so it hardens, then press firmly around the edges and push it out.
Application tips
Our Sunstick is naturally firm since it contains no synthetic softeners. In cooler temperatures (below 25 °C), it may feel a bit harder to apply. Simply hold the stick against your skin for a few seconds — the warmth of your skin will soften the balm. Then, gently swipe it on and spread evenly using the stick itself or your fingertips.
How much to use
For everyday protection, a thin and even layer is sufficient. If you’re spending extended time in strong sun (for example, at the beach or while surfing), apply a thicker layer on areas more exposed to sunlight such as the nose, cheeks, and shoulders.
Remember: Pure Tallow Sunstick protects using a mineral filter that sits on top of the skin. Coverage is key — ensure that the areas you want to protect are evenly covered.

Beach-friendly, but heat-sensitive—take it with you, but avoid leaving it in direct sun or a hot car while surfing.

I’m SUCH a fan of this sunscreen. Thank you for finally offering a solution I’ve been searching for for a long time. I’m a high level athlete and spend a lot of time in the sun on training and championship weekends, and I hate putting on chemical sunscreen.
I tried this one on yesterday on a 40km bike ride in full sun, and came out just…tan. LOVE IT!
I also love the feel - as someone with dry skin this is so perfect for me (I love tallow in general).
The only thing I could love more, is if you proposed a tinted version !
For two reasons :
- being tan from the sun this one does leave me a bit white.
- I would absolutely wear this everyday as “foundation” if it were tinted !

Very pleased. I recommend it to everyone. This is definetly the future of sunscreens. It can be a bit hard to apply but just heat it (by holding the tip of the stick on the skin for a few seconds) and it will be easier to apply.

This is my second purchase. I’ve tried so many creams and balms for myself and my kids. Pure tallow has helped with my reactive skin, as well as my kid’s eczema. I’ve even put it on burns, dry cuticles and lips. It really does wonder and it’s so reassuring that it only one Ingredient that our body’s can actually ingest.
